How to make cooling drink Sugarcane Sherbet at home to pacify Pitta

Sugarcane Sherbet

My favourite cooling drink in summer! I just got home from a walk in the sun to the polling booth and back. My name could not be found in the voters’ list for Graduate MLC elections. I was hot, sweating and really angry.

That was before I got proactive about bringing the Pitta down. (If you are familiar with Ayurveda, you’d know that Pitta is the fire element in the body.) Making and drinking a large glass of Sugarcane sherbet worked instantly!

Ingredients:

Organic Jaggery: 1/2 cup

Fresh ginger: 1/4 inch piece

Sugar/Rock candy: 1 teaspoon

Lemon juice or Orange juice: 1 table spoon

Mint leaves: 10

Water: 2 cups

How to prepare Sugarcane Sherbet:

Using one cup of water, blend all the ingredients in a mixer. Add the remaining water. Blend and strain. Pour in a large glass. Drink at room temperature or iced. Even at room temperature it has an immediate cooling effect!
