प्रश्न : रिश्तों को स्वस्थ रखने का क्या उपाय है?

श्री श्री रवि शंकर : मुझे इस क्षेत्र का अनुभव नहीं है! (हंसी) फिर भी मैं कुछ सलाह दे सकता हूं।

पहली सलाह है महिलाओं के लिये – कभी भी अपने आदमी के अहं को ठेस मत पहुंचाना। हमेशा उसका उत्साह बढ़ाओ, अहं को सहारा दो। चाहे पूरी दुनिया उसे नाकारा कहे, तुम ऐसा मत कहना! तुम उससे कहना कि उसके पास विश्व का श्रेष्ठतम दिमाग है – वो उसका प्रयोग नहीं करता है इसका मतलब ये नहीं है कि उसके पास वो दिमाग नहीं है! तुम्हें हमेशा कहना चाहिये कि वो सर्वश्रेष्ठ आदमी है। हमेशा उसके अहं का पोषण करो। अगर तुम उसे नाकारा कहोगी तो वो सचमुच ऐसा ही हो जायेगा।

अब एक सलाह है पुरुषों के लिये – कभी भी स्त्री की भावनाओं को ठेस मत पंहुचाना। हां, वो कभी कभी अपने घरवालों के बार में शिकायत कर सकती है, अपने भाई के बारे में, अपने पिता या मां के बारे में, पर तुम कभी उसकी बात से सहमति मत जताना। अगर तुमने उसकी बात से सहमति जताई तो वह पलट कर तुम्हें ही बुरा भला कहेगी। कभी भी उसके परिवार की बेइज़्ज़ती मत करना। उसे कभी भी ख़रीददारी करने से या किसी आध्यात्मिक कार्यक्रम में जाने से मत रोकना। अगर वो ख़रीददारी करने जाना चाहे तो उसे अपना क्रेडिट कार्ड दे देना।

अब एक सलाह, दोनों के लिये – कभी भी एक दूसरे से प्रेम का प्रमाण मत मांगना। ये मत पूछना, ‘क्या तुम मुझे सचमुच प्रेम करते हो? तुम मुझे पहले जैसा प्रेम नहीं करते।’ अपने प्रेम को प्रमाणित करना बहुत बोझिल कार्य है। अगर कोई तुम से कहे कि अपने प्रेम को प्रमाणित करो तो तुम कहोगे, ‘हे भगवान! मैं इस व्यक्ति को कैसे बताऊं?’ हर काम कुछ ख़ास अदाज़ में और मुस्कुराते हुये करो।

Q: Guruji we have heard the terms spirituality and enlightenment so often. There are very abstract definitions of the terms. Would you please throw some light on these?
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: (Jokingly) You want me to add more confusion to the words and give you one more definition! If I have a choice I would take away all the definitions and leave you in confusion because from that confusion something flowers up in you. My understanding is not going to help you. It has to come from within you. When you wake up and see, you will be surprised. I would like you to experience that WOW. Don’t make it a concept. If you don’t know what enlightenment is, thank God and say ‘ I don’t know what enlightenment is. Let me wait for it.’ It is the concepts that keep us away from experiencing the reality. That’s what I feel.
