Chameli jasmine climber has spread like a roof over the open courtyard at Krishna Kuteer, Sri Sri Panchakarma, Bangalore. Holy basil is growing on the ground here. so, the entrance to Krishna Kuteer is naturally scented with basil and jasmine.

Bangalore is the city of flowers to me. Though I have yet to visit its world famous Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, I clicked these flowers at the outskirts of the city, The Art of Living International Center.
A shiny, black sunbird catered to its young ones in this nest. The nest was decorated with jasmine blooms from the climber itself! It hung from a delicate twig.
The garden is productive because of the little time spent in daily watering, pruning dry twigs from shrubs (Chinese orange, roses, poinsettia, Shatavari), pruning the chrysanthemums thrice in the year, and emptying the seeds collected from last year
A single plant can give you hundreds of new plants in the next season if the seeds are preserved in a dry, airtight container. And there’s no saying where the new plants will pop up from previous year’s seeds scattered by the plant itself.
The tesu flowers are traditionally used for colour-play in the spring festival of Holi. Tesu flowers are boiled in water to give a fragrant, deep yellow water which has medicinal properties and prevents skin problems in the coming summer.
