It is the inner glow of well-being that seeps through to your skin and twinkles in your eyes. That’s the real thing.

Smiling through the day flexing your facial muscles is not mandatory. It is the inner glow of well-being that seeps through to your skin and twinkles in your eyes. That’s the real thing. Plastic smiles are only cheap replicas, but going by the saying ‘Fake it till you make it’ is a great help here.

A smile is actually a reflection of happiness within. Happiness comes from well… a delicious meal, a cool drink, friends, parties, movies, trendy clothes, bikes, cars, fancy electronic gadgets, music…

You may have a more personalized list, but by and large we are happy when we have something to enjoy with. This is just the tip of the iceberg. We are happy because we exist. We are an integral part of the universal intelligence that creates and operates. We have the power to be happy by making others happy.

Smile-power is infectious, and we all have the capacity to build on another person’s happiness resource by just being thoughtful, and accepting the other as also a part of the integrating universal intelligence. We may call it God.

Simply by connecting to the others who exist with us in the whole of creation - the living and non-living, the near and distant, we strengthen our identity. We belong.

We belong to a large design that we know as life. By helping others grow in big and small ways we strengthen the mutual bonds that connect us. A smile is just a quotient for happiness. It spreads warmth and grows in mutual warmth. No matter how bleak the winter of insensitivity, or the gap in communication, a smile is like the sun that connects and warms immediately.

Smile, 'coz being human you belong to a privileged lot. You’re the only ones who can express your happiness and make others happy too by an upward curve of the lips and twinkling eyes. It is not possible for any other species of life to Smile!
